It’s actually been three weeks since my visit to Reefwise and bought these beautiful clams. But I was holding back from posting as I needed to first make sure all the clams are healthy and well.
So the funny thing about Reefwise- I did not realize they are located in Lisle, a Chicago suburbs until now. And the only reason I realized was because I had added a few items to cart and was expecting to see a free shipping option if I am to satisfy a certain threshold. But alas there was none. The shipping fee is a flat $50 no matter where you live, how much you buy. So I actually abandoned the cart and never checked out.
Marketers, here is where you take note- Reefwise’s “abandon cart” email reminder actually prompted me to have a second look and realized that I can checkout and choose to pick up in person in Lisle. So I did! took my 2 hour driving time in to visit the store myself! and yes, I will post another article about the actual store visit.
But just as far as the website, here are a few thins I liked:
1. Very nicely photographed animals. I especially love the black background touch (all tanks there have black background.
2. The site is optimized for mobile devices so you can browse and shop on your phone just as easily as you are on you PC.
3. The coloration of the items really do match them in person, no photoshopping.
